The New History of Christ’s Community Church,

       Christ's Community Mission of Savannah Ga. was developed in 1988. The very first
predominantly black Southern Baptist Church. Understanding that there was a need for
a Bible-teaching Baptist Church, that would have a great impact on all the different
communities in Savannah, birthed what we have now as Christ’s Community Church.
With the location and facilities in place, and sufficient financial support, efforts were
turned into choosing the new Pastor, Pastor Jerome King, who led the mission church
from July 1992 to April 30,1995. On February 1,1996 Rev. Kenny Grant assumed
responsibilities as the new Pastor.

     On July 28,1996, the Church adopted it’s constitution and covenant together as a local
New Testament Baptist Church. A Charter was signed, and Christ’s Community Church
had its first 30 original members, of which two remain: Roosevelt / Gladys Smalls!
In spite of numerous changes, God has kept our church. Christ’s Community Church
continues to stand on God’s truth and to move forward.

    On January 9,2022, our church received a new Senior Pastor, Pastor Jeff Cummings and
his leadership team Pastor Chris Cooper and Deacon Roosevelt Smalls. Christ’s
Community church continues to grow and to make disciples. From the day of its
inception: the goal of Christ’s Community Church, has been to know Christ and to make
him known. Along with our new vision to provide a Holy environment, set apart from
worldliness that teaches, supports, and protects biblical views Our mission is to lead,
support, and encourage individuals to enter a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus
Christ and to walk with him and to trust him through every area of life.

Today we celebrate 27 years as Christ’s Community Church!!
